A poem for Patricia Cane's Farewell

THIS PHRASE...

This phrase troubles me.

When it approaches me, I tremble

Like a dove

Locked up in the cold of winter.

This phrase has turned

Into a mournful song

That heralds a funeral procession.

In my repertoire,

It plays over and over again.

It turns my joy into distress,

It saddens my face,

It colors my soul with stress,

To such an extent that my being swims

In a mad rage,

For it strips me of my peace of mind

And plunges me into a river of anxiety.

The song plays without my approval,

I find it hard to identify precisely

The person holding the remote control.

I see no one around me,

But I feel the unhealthy presence

Of this infamous soul

Who presses the play button

So that the song repeats

its disgusting sentence over and over again:

She's gone, and it's for good.

The song phrase I'm talking about

Is the little phrase: Rest in peace.

A phrase in the imperative mood

That doesn't bode anything bad, anything negative,

But that no one wants to see on their photo

Or on their Facebook wall because it smacks of chaos.

The little phrase makes a fabulous wish

But burns our hearts like fire.

The little phrase darkens the news

The little phrase wishes for peace

To the soul that is leaving forever

But leaves a bitter pain for eternity

To the souls who have lost a loved one.

Peacefulness has packed its bags

Anxiety reigns supreme in my circle

Sadness clings to me

Happiness has turned its back on me

I am exhausted, curled up on myself

In the fire of hell

Tears flood my home

Where I moan, I rot, I decay without respite

Because of the loss of a friend, mentor, and sister.

Dear Patricia,

You brought us an approach

That helps us heal ourselves

And heal the world.

A mission we will pursue with fervor

To honor your memory

And ensure that your heritage lives on through generations.

May your soul rest in peace.

May your soul be undisturbed.

We will continue your mission.

That is our promise.

Rest in peace, dear founder Patricia Cane!

May your soul rest among the glorious!
